Advanced blood work, a DEXA body-composition scan and a physician review with Cedars-Sinai Clinic London, coordinated alongside your coaching so the training runs on measured data rather than assumption.

The short answer

What clinical diagnostics involves

Clinical diagnostics is the measured layer under the coaching: an advanced blood panel, a DEXA scan, biomarker analysis, and a consultation with a physician at Cedars-Sinai Clinic London, arranged and coordinated by W1 Performance. It can run inside any coaching tier or as a standalone piece of work.

The reason it exists is simple. Body composition, metabolic markers and bone density are the things most people are actually trying to change, and they are exactly the things a bathroom scale cannot see. Measure them properly at the start and you know what the programme is for. Measure them again later and you know whether it worked.

The testing and the medical review are delivered by Cedars-Sinai Clinic London, whose first outpatient clinic outside the United States sits on New Cavendish Street, roughly ten minutes from UNTIL Marylebone. They bill you directly. Leigh coordinates the process, sits alongside the findings, and translates what they mean for your training, nutrition, sleep and recovery. He is a performance coach, not a clinician: the medical interpretation belongs to the physician, and the coaching decisions are what he takes responsibility for.

What you get

What gets measured, and why it matters

  • An advanced blood panel, so metabolic and general health markers are known rather than guessed at
  • A DEXA scan for a precise read of lean mass, fat mass and their distribution, not just total weight
  • Bone mineral density from the same scan, which matters more with every decade past forty
  • Biomarker analysis across the panel, reviewed as a picture rather than a list of single numbers
  • A consultation with a Cedars-Sinai physician, who owns the medical interpretation and any onward advice
  • The findings translated into training, nutrition, sleep and recovery decisions that you can act on
  • A repeatable set of measures, so a later retest shows what the programme actually changed

How it works

How the process runs

Getting started

Cedars-Sinai Clinic London will give you their own instructions, and theirs are the ones to follow. Blood panels usually require a period of fasting and no heavy training in the day or two beforehand. Bring any previous blood work or scan results so the physician can see a trend rather than a single point.

During your sessions

After your sessions

The physician reviews the results with you and owns any medical advice or onward referral. Leigh then works the training-relevant findings into your programme and sets the retest point, so the next set of numbers is comparable with this one.

Diagnostics
questions

Is W1 Performance providing medical care?

No. W1 Performance is a coaching practice and Leigh is a performance coach, not a clinician. The blood panel and DEXA scan are delivered by Cedars-Sinai Clinic London, and the medical review and any onward advice sit with their physician and your GP. Leigh coordinates the process and uses the findings to inform your training.

What does a DEXA scan actually tell me?

It gives a precise breakdown of lean mass, fat mass and where each sits on your body, plus bone mineral density. That matters because two people at the same weight can have very different bodies, and because muscle and bone are the two things worth defending as you age. It is the measure a set of scales cannot give you.

Do I have to do the diagnostics to work with you?

No. Every coaching tier includes a full baseline assessment, and plenty of clients work from that alone. Diagnostics is for people who want the measured layer underneath: usually those focused on longevity, metabolic health, or making a decision about the next decade rather than the next quarter.

What happens if something concerning shows up?

It goes to the physician, which is exactly why the physician review is part of the process rather than optional. They will advise you and, where appropriate, direct you to your GP or a specialist. Leigh will adjust the coaching around whatever they recommend, and will not work around clinical advice.

How often should the testing be repeated?

A retest point is agreed when the first set is taken, and it depends on what is being tracked: body composition shifts on a shorter cycle than bone density does. The principle is that measures are worth repeating on the same instruments, so the comparison is honest.

Where does the testing take place?

At Cedars-Sinai Clinic London on New Cavendish Street, rather than at UNTIL Marylebone, because blood draws and DEXA scanning need clinical facilities and clinical staff. It is about ten minutes from the training venue, and the two are scheduled so you are not making two separate trips in the same week.
