Baseline Health & Performance Assessment

Health and Performance Assessment in Marylebone, London

The measured starting point every W1 Performance programme is built from: where your body is today, how your week actually runs, and which few changes will move the most.

The short answer

What the baseline assessment covers

Every programme starts here. The baseline assessment is a deep-dive across six areas of health and performance, plus a measured read of your physical capacity, so the first block of coaching is built on evidence rather than assumption. It is included in every coaching tier, not sold as an extra.

Most people arrive having already tried something. What is usually missing is not effort or information: it is an honest, coordinated picture of the whole person. Training history and current capacity sit alongside sleep, nutrition, stress, energy through the day, and the real shape of a demanding working week. Assessed together, the leverage points are obvious. Assessed one at a time, they are not.

The assessment is also where we agree what success looks like in your own words. Those outcomes are what every monthly review is measured against, so progress stays a matter of record rather than a matter of opinion.

What you get

What you leave with

  • A measured read of your current physical capacity, so load is set from evidence and not from guesswork
  • A deep-dive across six areas of health and performance rather than training in isolation
  • A clear picture of how your week really runs, and where the coaching has to fit
  • The few leverage points that will move the most, ranked, so the first block has a focus
  • Agreed outcomes in your own words, which every monthly review is then measured against
  • Your first training block written from the findings and loaded into the CoachRx app

How it works

What to expect on the day

Getting started

Wear comfortable training clothing and flat-soled shoes, and bring a water bottle. Beforehand, note how a typical week actually runs, how you have been sleeping, any current or previous injuries, and what you want to be different in a year. Bring any recent blood work or health screening results if you have them.

During your sessions

After your sessions

The findings are returned to you plainly, with the priorities ranked and the reasoning explained. Your first training block is written from them and loaded into the CoachRx app, and the outcomes you agree become the measure used at every monthly review.

Assessment
questions

How long does the baseline assessment take?

It runs as a deep-dive rather than a brief screening, and it is completed in full before any programme is written. The exact length depends on how much ground there is to cover across your history, your week and the physical assessment, so it is confirmed with you when the session is arranged.

Do I need to be fit to be assessed?

No, and it would rather defeat the purpose. The assessment exists to establish where you are today, whatever that is. People come in from long training histories and from years away from structured exercise. Both get the same process, and both get a first block set from their own findings.

Is this a medical assessment?

No. This is a coaching assessment: movement, capacity, history and lifestyle. It does not diagnose anything and it does not replace advice from your GP or a clinician. If you want blood work, a DEXA scan and a physician review, that is coordinated separately through clinical diagnostics.

What happens to the findings afterwards?

They become the programme. The leverage points set the focus of the first block, the measures give us something to repeat at review points, and the outcomes you agree are what each monthly review is judged against. Nothing is assessed for the sake of assessing it.

Can I do the assessment without committing to coaching?

Ask on the first conversation. The assessment is built as the opening stage of a coaching programme rather than a product sold on its own, and Leigh takes on a small number of clients at a time, so a standalone assessment is handled case by case.
